JANE INCAO
Independent Creative Arts Director Graphic Designer & Print Production Expert

Jane is a trailblazer and a seasoned Creative Arts Director / Graphic Designer. with a keen eye for detail, typography, and color. She has superior knowledge of print production and is an expert in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and PhotoShop. She has excellent art directing skills for still life, food, fashion, and architectural photo shoots. She can take a job from concept to completion and apply her skills, talent, and knowledge to branding companies, designing food packaging, magazines, branding restaurants, and more. She was born to be creative and is so happy to do what she loves!

Jane brings decades of graphic design and print production experience to her role as Creative Arts Director for York Design. At the onset of her career, Jane worked in the printing industry for Compucolor. She experimented with metallic inks and making custom colors before Pantone came out with a Metallic color chart. She also played a key role in computerizing the company’s stripping department. She was also the first designer on Long Island and in Boston to pioneer computer-generated nightclub invitations.

Jane founded her freelance business, Jane Incao Graphics, in Glen Head, NY in 1996. Some of her clients included major companies like WLIR Radio and House of Blues. At the beginning of 1999, Jane left Long Island to co-found Philadelphia Style, a fashion and lifestyle magazine that is now owned by Modern Luxury Media. For three years, as Creative Director of the magazine, she devoted herself to maintaining the visual appeal of Philadelphia Style as well as developing state-of-the-art graphics and the new, direct-to-plate printing for the magazine (unheard-of at this time). She was also the first in the USA and the world to design a magazine (regional or national) using the new Adobe program, InDesign. It is now the standard program to design all magazines.

In 2002, Jane returned to her native Long Island to join long-time colleagues, Scott, and Eric Neher, to help create and produce Elements, Long Island’s first upscale lifestyle magazine. In 2005, seeking a little variety, Jane joined forces with the brilliantly talented Terri Carr Muran to form York Design (Terri being from YORKshire, England, and Jane from New YORK). Today, Jane runs the company with the help of some amazingly talented and highly creative friends including, photography guru, Jan Van Pak.

Jane has a great knowledge of the food service industry. Her passion for cooking started at the age of 12. She then worked in the catering and restaurant industries for 8 years. While Creative Director of Philly Style and Elements, Jane oversaw the restaurant sections. She was present at all the food reviews with her Food Editor, worked with the restaurant chefs, and styled all the food and props at the photo shoots. Jane has continued to apply her skills and talents in this area with York Design’s restaurant, catering, and grocery brand clients.

Jane, who speaks Italian, earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Graphic Design major) from New York Institute of Technology and also lived and studied art and design in Florence, Italy. She goes back to Italy as often as possible to visit friends and to add to her knowledge of Italian cooking and the culture.

She is currently living La Dolce Vita!
